Today i went to play music ( qobuz) on my wiim pro plus. No light....no life. Tried unplug & replug, swapped power block, different wall socket. Could it be fried?

It could be a power connector problem. Clean the connector and try a different power wall outlet.

Did it smell of burnt chips?

Hopefully it's still within the warranty period. Suggest unplug for an extended period (10 minutes) and retry. It's sounding like a hardware issue given there are no lights.
