When trying to play local tracks from my phone, the Wiim PP stops playing randomly and then goes into a loop showing tracks for about 10 seconds without sound before changing to the next track?

Yes, I've experienced a similar problem myself. This might be an issue specific to certain phone models. In my case, the WiiM app works fine as long as it's in the foreground and the phone screen is on, but when the phone goes into sleep mode, the music stops after a while.

I recommend submitting a ticket via the feedback section in the WiiM app.
