Hi all,

I currently run an Amp Pro through Definitive Technology D7’s. I don’t have a sub but am thinking of adding one. I’m thinking about replacing the Amp Pro with an Amp Ultra or a Pro Plus / Vibelink combination.

Any thoughts or experiences to share please?

TIA.

My thoughts: Add a subwoofer before considering swapping the WiiM Amp Pro for anything else. These small speakers will benefit massively from adding a sub and the subwoofer management available with the Amp Pro or Amp Ultra. I wouldn't even consider the WiiM Pro Plus, it's a step sideways, not ahead and it's lacking the sub management.

The WiiM Sub Pro is the only option to bring proper bass management including high pass filtering of the mains to the Pro Plus. As pointed out by @Burnside, it can be connected wirelessly. However, WiiM do recommend to use a wired connection, if possible (WiiM Amp, WiiM AMP Pro, WiiM Amp Ultra, WiiM Ultra).

With the WiiM Amp Pro (or WiiM Amp Ultra) you can use any good active subwoofer. It doesn't have to be the WiiM Sub Pro. But it's not a bad choice for sure.

Many thanks for this.
