Qobuz App issues

Hello!
I am currently using Spotify Premium via WiiM Ultra without any issues of connection (doing exception the late Spotify Update where I have to use GoogleCast instead of Spotify Connect...) but I'd really like to play my digital music in HiRes.
Qobuz seems to have the app I like more (tried Amazon HD, Apple Music and Tidal before) and I'd like to keep it after the two-months trial but the app does not function well in both my Ultra (two different Hi-Fi set-up in different rooms) .

Problems are:
Slownness in charging a song/album
Slowness in switching from a song to another (about 12-15 seconds! it seems it is buffering or something like that)
Randomly Qobuz app stop playing during listening
Qobuz app disconnects from Ultra playing directly on my iPhone while listening

These issues are pretty annoying but I'd like to give another chance to the Qobuz service during the trial.

Some useful info, as I did a lot of test before to write in this forum:
I use both my Ultra via ethernet cable.
My WiFi network has no issue resulting 93,4Mbps in upload speed test.
I selected CD Audio Quality in Qobuz app.
Playing Qobuz app via iPhone/earbuds the app has no issue so I presume it is mainly related to the WiiM Ultra streamer.

Some thoughts and suggestions about how to solve this issue? 🙏

At now Spotify seems having no rivals about app graphic layout and connectivity, smoothness, performance, algoritm etc. but as I've written before I'd like to have HiRes Audio format to listen to music.

Thanks in advance and regards.
Paolo

Welcome.

Are you on the qobuz connect beta?
For the slowness issue, try toggling the preferred dns and ipv6 settings in the Network Settings screen in the wiim app.
Do you get similar behaviour when using Qobuz within the wiim app?

Hello, using the WiiM App Qobuz works well. But I’d like to use the music service app more than the WiiM one, as I am currently doing with Spotify. Moreover using the WiiM app does not appear which track is playing as screen-saver while my iPhone is blocked.
Preferred DNS and IPv6 settings are currently enabled…

If you are an Android user, I recommend using Qobuz via the Bubble UPNP app. Alternatively, you can share a playlist or album to Bubble UPNP using the Qobuz app. A pretty good alternative (until the final implementation of Qobuz Connect).

Are you on the Qobuz Connect beta programme or streaming through Goiglecast or even Bluetooth?

Streaming through Googlecast

Try toggling these one at a time.
Hopefully disabling preferred dns will help.
I'll try to disable Preferred DNS and let's see...

Disabling both preferences it does not helps. I am very sad because I’d really want to keep Qobuz but it isn’t smooth at all. I don’t know if Qobuz or WiiM developers are aware of this thing. So frustrating.

I’m using Qobuz with Ultra on IPAD and Android. I’ve none of the problems that you encountered. Preferred DNS and IPV6 on.
On IOS you could try MConnect

Thanks for reply. Please explain how to use this Mconnect.
It’s very easy. It’s an App, so download it from the Play Store and install it. Log in to Qobuz inside the app, set your preferences and…play your music.
MConnect it’s not so complete or beauty as BubbleUPnP, but it’s the only alternative on IOS. Bubble, unfortunately, it’s Android only. I use Bubble on another tablet.

Thanks for explaining but it means I have to manage 3 Apps (Qobuz + WiiM App + Mconnect) to play music? It isn’t so smart. My aim is to use Qobuz App directly as I am using Spotify…

Giving Mconnect a chance and let’s see how it works.

I don’t know if Qobuz or WiiM developers are aware of this thing.
And don't forget Google as they are responsible for Googlecast.

The permanent solution should be Qobuz Connect, when it is out of beta status. In the meantime using Qobuz through the WiiM Home app is your best bet (and requires the least effort).

You can choose which application is best for you. They are alternatives. In any case, as I said, with the native Qobuz App I don't have any of the problems you encounter.
