So galvanic isolation and a better clock from an add-on device like the iFi iPurifier2 will help your DAC reveal more of the detail in your music. Even though it costs as much as the Pro, it has more than doubled my pleasure...

(galvanic isolation in the case of toslink-st/att is of course not the subject...)
in spdif the top of the pulse transformers (murata pulse) costs practically nothing now ... but above all it is now almost systematically on the dac side ...
it is to be checked on a case-by-case basis but in general it is not necessary on the source side...
