Dear Community,

i followed the RoomFit instruction settings by forum experts (see forum post attached) and i am very upset after testing 3 hours straight without good results :/

Disclaimer: I am absolute noob and i need your help to interpret the results.

Everytime i use roomfit it seems my sub is completly sucked out. I have to manually adjust sub to +6db after correction to feel a decent bass again.

Without room fit, bass feels overtuned and there a modes in room. But bass exists in comparision to roomfit results.

Heres my setup:

Teufel Ultima 40 Active
T10 Teufel Subwoofer (25% sub volume), stands in the room corner.
Wiim Ultra

What am i doing wrong? Any ideas how to calibrate sub accordingly?

Maybe you just like artificially boosted bass. You can try the Harman target curve.

Nope, i hear a lot of music on different sources and the bass is clearly missing after roomfit. :(
Your measurement shows the bass matching the target curve. Your raw measurement shows bass 15-18dB above the target. If you like the sound without room correction the corrected response will obviously sound bass light.

Thats a good point, idk it just sounds clearly wrong compared to all other devices, its like bass is completly gone after roomfit. not adjusted, vanished.

Update: i researched and tested furhter and there are similar posts describing the issue.

The Problem is, i have variable volume control via Wiim Ultra, and Wiim is somehow scaling down the power of the sub compared to fixed volume sub output.

The difference is insanse, i really hope they fix this problem with bass fit soon.

Hm, that doesn't really sound right, I never saw a similar issue to be honest.

Can you explain how everything is connected?
Is the sub connected to the sub output on the Ultra or to the sub out on your active speakers?
Where do you control volume - on the WiiM Ultra or on your speaker?
Do you use fixed volume configuration in the WiiM Home app?

Sure mate,

First of all here is the big forum post just perfectly describing my problem:

  • Some users observe loss of sub or low-end energy when volume is limited at the streamer and then listening at low overall volume; especially affecting sub output performance.
My setup:

Wiim Ultra: Line out, Sub out
Active Speakers Teufel Ultima 40
Teufel T10 Sub
I control volume via Wiim
Issue: Room Correction sucks out bass completly

So the Teufel Ultima 40 speakers Aux input is connected to WiiM Ultra RCA line output, and the Teufel T10 sub input is connected to the WiiM Ultra Sub Out port, correct?

And you never adjust volume on your Teufel Ultima 40 speakers, instead you always only adjust volume on the WiiM Ultra, right?

Can you share a screenshot of your WiiM Home app Sub Out screen setting, and also a picture of the knob and switch positions on your Teufel sub?

By the way, this thread seems to describe an issue where the subwoofer's auto on/off feature doesn't reliably turn on the sub at low listening levels.

So that wouldn't be an issue with the Ultra or RoomFit, but related to sub auto on/off function sensitivity. Though RoomFit can make this worse, since RoomFit typically decreases the level at subwoofer output additionally to combat room resonances.

One way to work around this is to increase the WiiM Ultra Sub Out level, and proportionally decrease the level on the subwoofer itself. This way the sub would get higher voltage from the Ultra, so hopefully the sub's auto on/off circuit would trigger more reliably.

Yes sir, here you go - thank you for your help!

For me it seems that i cant find the sweet spot for defined sub intensity, without room correction room explodes due to bass, with it seems sucked out. Unfortunatly i dont have the knowledge to manually apply correction for frequencies to find the sweet spot ^^

Which target curve have you chosen in RoomFit settings? If you want more bass then try Harman.

I think - but might be mistaken - that if you control sub and crossover on Wiim than you can’t use it also on sub - you have to set sub’s cross to full - meaning to send full range to sub because it is already controlled on wiim. Otherwise you do it twice.

Thats a genious idea! seems plausible. I try it out later, that could be it!

Is the sub cross the sensitivity thing with low to high? Or is it the menue on active speakers where i also set 80hz cross?

The picture you provided is not clear but it think it is knob labelled bass boost. If it is crossover try to set it opposite to current setting so to full and see effects.

The other thing is as you have active speakers than crossover setting might be on speakers not on sub (especially if it is marked with frequency levels), if so again try to set it to full as see results.

Bottom line try to find crossover setting on Teufel and disable it.

It worked, the bass boost set to mid is providing depth for sub, thank you so much! *_* now its time for „Last Call - Kollektiv Turmstraße“
