I've used Roon for at few years now, and I like how it works with my various connected devices. I prefer to use its interface for my music - local files on the network and as of lately Tidal.

I see that Roon also supports Qobuz - so before I get too deep into Tidal, I'd love to hear if Qobuz is the better option in the long run. Both seem to offer a good wide catalogue in great quality. But I'm wondering if there are any pitfalls with either service I should be aware of before setteling with one. I just heard about Tidal having (another?) big round of layoffs - this instantly rings a few warning bells in my head, but maybe I shouldn't be too concerned about this?

The price difference between these two is small enough, to not sway one way or another. I just want to get a better idea about the pros and cons of these two.

Thanks in advance, and have an excellent weekend :)

Qobuz is arguably better for Classical and Jazz but otherwise very little to choose between them. No SQ difference that I can detect.

I've had Roon+Qobuz for a few years, very happy, and just bought a Qobuz gift card (on offer now) for next year's renewal.

There are just a few albums I like that Tidal has which Qobuz doesn't, but only a few. e.g. the Transatlantic Sessions albums. Quite possibly there's the converse too, but I'd not notice that.

Appreciate the feedback everyone.

It sounds like Qobuz is a solid choice. The payments breakdown was the final thing that setteled it, as I listen to a lot of smaller artists - anything that might help these is a + in my book.
