Single Speaker Alternatives with Wiim (eg. instead of Era 100s)

Wiim has opened up some possibilities for different speakers and I'm not fully understanding how to pair the Wiim devices for a specific use case.

Currently, for music throughout the house we have Era 100 speakers scattered around. It's not meant for sitting down and enjoying music, but for when we're busy around the house, parties, etc. then we can fill the house with music in every room. Era 100s are good but with some bigger rooms are lacking a bit, but that's been ok.

Wiim allows us to do what the Era 100s are doing with any speaker. But most speakers sold as stereo pairs and are wired together. So likely not adequate for having a few speakers throughout the house.

I know Wiim has the A10/C10 lines which seem like they are well reviewed (but not yet available in Canada). Are there other options people like? Easy upgrade speakers when paired with Wiim? Am I overthinking it and really any wireless speaker will work hooked up to Wiim?

It’s not the case that WiiM devices will work with any wireless speaker (unless wired to such ;) ). They will however work with speakers that use Linkplay modules at their core, such as the non-WiiM edition of the Audio Pro speakers you mention, as well as some Edifier speakers for example. In those cases, the other compatible speakers can be grouped with a WiiM device to all play what the WiiM device is playing. The WiiM Edition version of the audio pro speakers brings features to those speakers such as room correction and peq they otherwise wouldn’t have had and further integrates then into the WiiM world…

Others are using say a WiiM Pro or Pro Plus connected by an adapter cable to their Era 100 speakers to retain them while enjoying the benefits of a WiiM driven setup - indeed, there have a been a few posts in recent days about Era 100s that you should do a group search for and check them out.
