Speaker ports when using crossover

Is it generally worth plugging speaker ports if they are high passed, when placing them close to a wall?
 
Solution
Personally, I think it’s great, and exactly for a reason like yours which is placing them close to walls. It also gives a nice, smooth roll-off, kills group delay, makes the phase easier to match with a sub, and diminishes port resonances further up the frequency response which they all have (some very badly).
