Tidal Connect Not Showing on iPad

I typically use my iPhone for streaming on my WiiM Ultra and WiiM Mini…. however when I decided to use my iPad Pro, I don’t have Tidal connect show up from the Tidal app.

I do have the WiiM Home app installed on my iPad, and I can access and play Tidal music through the WiiM Home app, however I prefer the functionality of the native Tidal app.

Is there a setting I’m missing in order to see the Tidal Connect option? Photo attached for reference.IMG_0831.png

Since Tidal on the iPhone sees the WiiM Ultra and Mini as Tidal Connect targets (but the iPad does not), I doubt there is anything wrong on the WiiM side of things.

Is the Tidal app on the iPad the same version as on the iPhone?

Yes they are. Version 2.141.0, build: 7387 on both my iPhone 13 Pro Max, and iPad Pro.

Just seemed weird that it didn’t show on the iPad

It is weird, but most likely something Apple or Tidal would need to address.

Does the WiiM Home app work correctly on the iPad?

Ya it does. WiiM Home app works flawlessly! Love the WiiM products and ecosystem, just thought I’d ask about Tidal Connect since it seemed weird…. Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything. Must be an iPadOS thing.

Nothing wrong with asking here. Maybe other users have come across similar issues with their iPads.

I mentioned the WiiM Home app because the iPad might not have been on the same network segment as the iPhone (even though on the same Wi-Fi connection). But in this case the WiiM Home app would not work as well.

Good luck.

Maybe the tidal app needs local network permission, although it should ask for that when it tried to assemble a list of tidal connect targets on your local network. Try the usual reboots of your router, WiiM device, iPad and app delete/re install

I have just tried this on 3 different iPads, and got the same screen as in the OP's photo, but after selecting Cancel, and retrying, I was then able to select Airplay & Bluetooth devices, Chromecast devices, and TIDAL connect devices.

So Spotify Connect works on the iPad, illustrating to me that it’s definitely not a WiiM or Apple thing…. But a Tidal issue. I deleted and reinstalled the app onto my iPad, and now my WiiM devices both show up, but clicking on the icons to connect Tidal still doesn’t transmit sound to either my Mini or Ultra. So weird!

Seems to be working flawlessly as of now. Weird buggy gremlin it seems… but if sharing can help others who are experiencing issues on iPadiOS, it was worth the ask.
