For a few years now. I think since I've has Tidal (didn't happen when I had Amazon Music).

Using the Tidal Android app, with Tidal Connect it disconnects at 10 mins when music is paused. It doesn't do this using the Wiim Pro app.
  • Wiim Pro Plus
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 (but was doing it on my Galaxy S21 Ultra)
  • Latest version of Google Play
I've tried:
  1. Standby: 1 Hour
  2. Android App Settings -> App Cache Clear
  3. Android App Settings -> Battery: Unrestricted
  4. In Wiim Home Logout of Tidal and Login again
  5. DNS Server: Auto and Manual: Google
  6. Untick IPv6: Off
  7. 5Ghz Only: Off - I'm not in a position to split the SSID into separate SSIDS to have both 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz so I can ensure my phone is using 2.4GHz
  8. Wifi Roamig: Already off (Don't use Mesh)
  9. Wiim Pro reset
  10. Phone reset
  11. Router reset
  12. A Galaxy tablet (Android 16)
  13. Ethernet: Although it's only 0.5 metres from the router
Two questions please:
  1. I can see this is a regular issue with streaming apps. Has anyone found suggestions to resolve this I've not tried?
  2. This forum post shows Spotify by design disconnects at 10 mins. My suspicion is Tidal by design is the same, but I can't find anything online. Has anyone found confirmation? - I'd say, Spotify Connect works as designed
Thanks

Thanks.

I don't suppose you have any further ideas of things to try or seen anything online, on how many minutes when it disconnects?

I'm basing that on it seems quite the coincidence Spotify is set to 10 minutes, and it looks like Tidal is the same too.

Yes, Spotify Connect will also disconnect after a certain amount of time has passed since paused playback.

However, with the newly added Smart Play feature, I can resume playback simply by pressing the remote’s play button. I can also reconnect by pressing the preset button.

Thanks. Does this work if you'd initiated the playback via the Spotify/Tidal app or you have to have from Wiim Home?

It looks like Smart Play maybe a Spotify feature on Wiim devices :(. Thanks still though.

I can also reconnect by pressing the preset button.
This would only work for playlists you've preset though and therefore has limited benefit. Thanks again.

Sorry, I was talking about Spotify. Tidal doesn't have Smart Play.

With Spotify, I can automatically connect to Spotify Connect using Preset Play. But you can't do that with Tidal..

What's Preset Play? Can't find it online. Thanks. They both sound useful.
Please have a look at this:

Thanks. According to Google AI you can with Tidal. I came across these instructions searching for another fix and spent ages trying to replicate them.

But like you say Step 3 of these instructions:

How to Save a Playlist as a Preset
Save as Preset in WiiM Home App: Go to Now Playing, tap three dots (...) on the right, then select Preset.

Oddly just doesn't exist with Tidal. You must initiate the playback from Wiim Home in order to get the Preset option mention in this Step 3. The first two Steps in these instructions obviously exist, but not Step 3.

As mentioned earlier, this isn’t possible with Tidal. If you play Tidal using the WiiM app, you can add it to presets. However, if you start playback via Tidal Connect, you can’t add it to presets; only Spotify Connect allows you to do so.

Sorry, I might have confused you by saying something I unnecessary

Thanks for your comments doing your best to help.

We've gone way off topic, as much through my own fault. Annoyinly this forum doesn't let you delete posts. I'll start a new one. Thanks again.
