Ultra Line Out no sound

Up until this afternoon the Ultra was working fine, other then Chromecast being very flaky. Then about an hour ago I was listening to a record, with the Line Out connected from my McIntosh preamp to my McIntosh amp, and the sound disappeared. I've been using the Ultra as a remote control for when I have it hooked up like this, with my pre connected through it's Tape Out into the Ultra's Line In, and the Line Out connected to the pre's Tape In. And then I engage the pre's Tape Monitor switch so that I can control volume through the Ultra. Was working fine and then no sound. Played around with different settings, and eventually the sound came back. But then I lost it again. Connected the amp to the Line Out, and still no sound. Going to reboot but this is really disturbing.

Rebooting got the sound back with the amp connected directly to the Ultra. I'll report back if the problem reappears.

This is all after the latest software update BTW.

Best to submit a ticket direct to WiiM when it happens so they can investigate it
The issue now seems to be that when I go from Line In to another source, say Wi-Fi, and then stop that second source, the app will show that I'm back to Line In if it's being used. But there's still nothing coming from that source even though it's being used. My fix has been to change to another source and then back manually to Line In and the sound comes back.

Yes I'll send a ticket but posting here in case anyone else has noticed a similar issue.

This just happened to me this evening, no sound on line out, checked everything...

I’m having the same issues with a brand new Wiim ultra. Headphones work fine, but using line out to my Arcam receiver results in no sound. Have raised a ticket with Wiim customer support.

This issue continues sporadically on mine and is really the only hiccup on the Ultra I'm presently experiencing. My "fix" is to switch from line out to another output, and then back again to line out which fixes it. A bit of a hassle but given how well everything is with the Ultra I'm willing to put up with it.

Thank you for the reply. Sadly it didn’t work for me!

Thanks but I’ve already tried that, and rebooting the Wiim from the app. I really don’t understand what the problem is. I also tried using the optical connection but still no sound.

When you say Arcam reciever, do you mean amplifier? Just checking

Could you post a picture of the back of your amp/ultra and give me the model no of your arcam gear? as I have arcam gear too.
Thanks

Hi. It’s an avr550 home cinema amplifier. It’s very difficult for me to get a proper view of the back panel to take a pic, but here is a generic pic from online. I’m using the supplied Wiim rca lead from the rca outs of the ultra to the pvr input on the Arcam

OK I am just going to look it up. Hang tight but I think it may be the input on your amp

I'm not proficient with Arcam receivers, but some AVRs support (or require) some "routing" of their inputs. Maybe the stereo direct setting bypasses all this.

As long as you don't feel limited by stereo direct mode, just keep it like that. Or have a closer look at the configuration options on screen (or in the manual).

Thanks. I’m happy with the current configuration so will leave things as they are. It’s quite a hassle getting to the back panel of the Arcam, as it weighs a ton and is in a custom unit along with all my other hifi/home cinema electronics.
