My ultra used to work by having optical in from my lg tv. Was then sent to my active speakers(bno pentad)
Now there is no sound to my speakers.

It works when using tidal. Just not when coming from TV. This stopped working yesterday the 22nd December 24.

Is this due to an update?

Cheers

Is the tv still sending pcm audio - has that setting perhaps been inadvertently changed?

It wasn't set to pcm when it was working. I have tried since it stopped and doesn't make any difference

“Power cycling” is merely a better sounding way of asking “have you turned it off and back on again?” 😉😂

Well, it is. 😁 But nowadays it's a matter of what people think "turn it off" really means. We can be lucky if the term correlates to hitting the red button on the remote. ;)

Pulling the plug would probably do as well. And reinserting it, if course, as that might not be perfectly clear. :P

That's why I like to talk about power cycling (and I didn't even make it up). At least until somebody tells me about this great new power cycling class at the gym ...

My WiiM Ultra is not working with optical in connecting to the Sony TV.
Turn-off TV -> WiiM Ultra will standby after 2mins as my config, Turn-on TV -> WiiM Ultra will not wake up from standby mode.

Reboot or Power Recycle not works, only factory reset can bring 1 time success waking up with my TV turning-on. Next time not works again. Already opened ticket.

Same environment on my WiiM Pro has no problem at all, Both WiiM Pro and WiiM Ultra firmware version are 20141219.

Wakeup only works with HDMI ARC (CEC on).

Do it really work on the Pro? I would not have expected that.

Of course it works on WiiM Pro with optical in, in App there is a SPDIF-IN Auto-sensing option you can enable or disable it.
But for WiiM Ultra, it call 'SPDIF-IN and HDMI auto-sensing' option, I'm not sure why they combine those two together in WiiM Ultra.

Hi jonson,

Have you enabled the "SPDIF-IN and HDMI auto-sensing" feature on your Ultra? If not, please toggle it on and let us know if it resolves the issue. Thank you!

As for your question about why the optical and HDMI auto-sensing options are combined, it’s because these two inputs are processed together when routed to our main SoC chip. As a result, the auto-sensing setting applies to both inputs simultaneously.

Yes, it's Enabled from the very begining. Cannot work.

@WiiM Support ,

Does auto-startup (auto-return to standby) work with auto-sensing of the optical input?

In my previous tests, auto-startup did not work with optical input, regardless of what the original input was.

Edit:
Strangely, however, the auto-startup worked on line-in when the input was HDMI and standby.

Turning off Ultra's auto-standby may solve your problem.

Hmm.... if the machine is not in standby mode, why I need auto-sensing function ? I thought this function is for a lazy guynlike me, can start up WiiM and sandby it with TV turn-on and turn-off.

BTW, those 2 functions works perfectly in my old WiiM Pro. (Auto standby and wake up by fiber)

Auto-sensing input switching and wake-up do not necessarily work at the same time.

Now I tested this by connecting a Mini to the optical input of my Pro. As a result, playing music on the Mini did not wake up the Pro automatically.

How many minutes is the auto-standby set to on your Pro?

I tried 2mins and 30secs, all not working.

And sounds your WiiM Pro has similar issue as my WiiM Ultra, just my input source is a Sony TV, your input source is WiiM Mini
