I bought the Wiim Ultra enjoying the fact that it had a nice display. However, in practice it proved to be very poorly usable... Now I want to buy a Wiim Amp Ultra but the poor quality of the display makes me consider, for example, the Eversolo Play, with a much better screen. Maybe it's usable for someone who uses it as a desktop? But as part of a home hi-fi that is generally viewed from 2-3m away it is useless! I can see just the outline of the cover (so what if it's nice and colourful, if it's still unreadable) and the descriptions of time, title etc. or time-seek bar are totally unreadable. Maybe it's time to update the firmware with a few more options? For example, no more unnecessary cover art (I'll look at it on my smartphone if I want to), but clear basic and user-relevant data? For example, something like this (of course, the long title could be scrolled).
