The setup is as follows:
Apple TV - TV - WiiM Ultra - Neumann Speakers

I use HDMI ARC to connect TV and WiiM, digital coax cable to connect WiiM and speakers.

As written in the title, this popping sound happens in the current WiiM Ultra’s volume so it gets quite loud. The problem is that it happens very randomly and around every 3-5 minutes, even shortly after the music has been paused.

What is the issue and how could I fix it?

Hi Pado,

We apologize for the inconvenience caused.

To address the popping noise issue, please follow these steps:
1. Navigate to Device Settings → Audio Input → Optical/HDMI Audio De-noising and enable this option to reduce the popping noise.
2. Additionally, adjust your TV settings to set the audio output format to PCM, which can help prevent popping noises during audio format changes.

We also kindly ask you to send us feedback to assist in debugging this issue. You can do so by selecting the More tab → Feedback in the app. Our engineers will promptly investigate the issue once we receive your feedback.

Warm regards,
WiiM Support

Hello,

I have tried the setting you asked for, but the same problem still happens, just a little less frequently. Is there any other way of solution? Otherwise I will try to request a replacement or a return..

I was having exactly the same problem. The solution I found was to use Ethernet cable from the ultra instead of WIFI.
works perfectly now. No more pops.
