What volume setting should the pre amp when connected to an integrated amp?

Do you mean using a wiim ultra as a pre amp?

Whatever is easiest, tbh.
I normally use variable volume on the wiim, but at 100% and use the amp volume control.
But this allows me to also use my tablet / wiim remote to reduce volume.
Also allows me to turn the amp up louder than normal and mostly use the wiim to control the volume, knowing that it'll never go louder than whatever I've set the amp to.

Some will say 100% out of wiim is best as there's then no digital volume control being done.

The best way is to set it to fixed output

As @Dako said, if you use the amp volume, set to fixed output. If you would like to use the WiiM volume control, set your power amp at a decent volume and don't touch it ;-)
