Hi folks,

I read a lot in different forums, but still have some questions and hope you can help me to verify that what I plan to do will work….

I do have some analog speakers in the living room with an old Onkyo AVR.
I plan to replace the AVR in order to
  1. Multiroom (different music in different rooms as well as synchronous playback in all rooms)
  2. Voice control (Google Assistant or Alexa)
  3. In other rooms use some smart speakers (guess I only can use speakers based on Linkplay)
  4. Still use the analog speakers in living room
  5. Voice control possible from all rooms
  6. Add portable smart speaker

Music source is almost 100% streaming (Spotify, TuneIn….)
I don't want to bind my solution to a single brand SONOS, DENON... because they all have their drawbacks.
(Especially SONOS, which was my first idea is now no option because of their new product strategy and quality)

My plan is

  • use a WiiM Amp Pro
    • Connect to analog speakers
  • Use other smart speakers remote for multiroom.
    • Sonos, Google and Amazon speakers will work for multiroom, but not synchronous.
    • Need Linkplay speakers like Medion - MD43631

What do you think, will this setup work?

Especially the synchronous playback and which speakers I have to use is still somehow unclear to me.

Thanks a lot in advance
