WiiM Amp pro - amp group "adjusts" every 15 minutes - very annoying

Folks:

I have a WiiM amp pro (5.2.813342) and WiiM amp (5.0.814734) configured as a group driving a standard 4 speaker and sub-woofer configuration. The WiiM amp pro is Master. It drives the front speakers and sub-woofer. The WiiM amp is slave and drives the two rear speakers. All speakers are hard wire. I am upgrading and old solution where speakers were driven by a circa 1990 amplifier.

95% pf the use of this configuration will be Television – which is connected by HDMI ARC. The other 5% of use will be streaming music via alexa.

I have the thing working. I get good stereo and front back effects. It’s cool., Most of the time.

My issue is about every 10-15 minutes the thing (I believe) tries to adjust. For about 5 seconds the sound washes out, and balance seems to ping pong left and right. If the app had a “I like this sound – don’t try to fix it” button, I would press it after one of these … experiences.

I have checked cabling. Everything is tight. Also the issue comes and goes. There are tantrums. If cabling was the issue – I would expect a more persistent experience.

I have turned every setting I can find off. The subwoofer, equalizer, room fit, noise reduction, fade in fade out – all are off or disabled. I have rebooted both devices. Yet the issue still exists.

Any idea on how I can make this go away would be much appreciated.

Sounds like your best bet would be to submit a ticket to WiiM as soon after this happens so they can inspect your device logs for clues. Use the more/feedback section in the app

Have you configured a surround sound system as outlined here?

WiFi or wired Ethernet connecting the Speaker Group WiiMs? In the WiiM Home app Settings [Device Win Amp Pro] > Audio Input > Group Delay / HDMI = ??. I reliably have a persistent speaker group connected via Ethernet and running with a Group Delay of 70ms. The DD5.1 surround works pretty well for me. Sadly, with even one of the two WiiMs on my modern, rural WiFi-6 AP, the setup was not stable enough to watch a sitcom, let alone a few movies. YMMV.
