A few quick questions....I'm using USB out to a DAC/Preamp for headphonea. I still hear the Subs. Must I manually turn them off?

Volume on the phones is low. Is it safe to crank the volume all the way up on the Amp Pro and use the volume on the Dac?

And lastly? Is the USB equalized with room correction? Do I need to manually turn off the EQ?

Yes, if you don't need the sub, use the smart presets to turn it off.

If you max out the Amp volume, I assume it will be at max volume when you turn it back to speaker output. Is maxing out the volume on the DAC not enough?

Please set the EQ for headphones in Smart Presets.

It would be a good idea to create preset 1 for speakers and preset 2 for headphones, and switch the sub on/off, EQ, (and volume).

However, it should be remembered that setting volume with presets can be risky. (When changing system settings, replacing devices, etc.)

The amp pro doesn't have smart presets yet.
Or at least mine doesn't, and there's not a beta for it.

Precisely why I have a mini feeding my hp setup in my office rather than the amp - I'm not brave enough to use the amp's usb out for headphones and have it connected to speakers at the same time, not even once smart presets arrive.

Yes. Smart presets (currently) only allow eq to be chosen, but not to be turned off. Flat is the closet to off.

Forgot this one.
Yes, when I was using my amp pro purely as usb out to my dac/hp amp (no speakers connected to the wiim amp) this is how I used it.
However, as above, with speakers connected... 🙀

I know the Wiim team is always working on updates. Right now in my opinion the Amp Pro needs a few more tweaks to be all it can be. I have a spare Mini. I think I'll just hook it into my DAC as a separate system to use my wired headphones. Thanks to all that replied.
