I guess this will also appear at some point in the Fire and Google TV variants?
Also, will this be streaming service specific? I see the example is for Amazon Music.
Hi Burnside,

Yes, Android TV and Fire TV will also support the lyrics display feature for any music services.

Great news! Many many thanks! I asked for this feature less than a month ago and now it is implemented:). This extraordinary approach of WiiM team to [reasonable] users' requests is definitely one of the KEY competitive advantages and this (together with close-to-perfect app and product functionalities) is one of the reasons I quite often recommend your products to my friends.

Really love the lyrics support! Can you tell us which resource is used to fetch them? I tried a few newer albums where there couldn't be found any.
Also maybe the playback screen should switch to the normal display where everything is centered when there are no lyrics found.

Hi @bird,

Could you please let us know which albums these are? We’ll investigate why we weren’t able to find their lyrics.

Nooo.... I much prefer it with the artwork on the left.:)
Hopefully we'll be given more screen options soon.
Yes, I also prefer it with the artwork on the left, and hate the way it changes to the central view.

There should be a toggle switch in the settings to allow you to select the view mode that you want.

Pushing that debate on one regarding position, it would be cool if there was an option that allowed the position to move (maybe left/centre/right) for the purposes of avoiding screen burn. I'd like to see the Wiim & source logo move at the same time for the same reason.

Have people actually got this update?
Mine is still the same as before and I have removed it and reinstalled it

I have just updated the app on my Apple TV 4K through the App Store manually. Automatic app update hadn't triggerd it until now.

Looks good so far, but I noticed the lyrics get out of sync when you fast-forward a track. And I could not find the night mode. :)

Edit: just found the moon symbol in the lower right. :)

The night mode is the little moon icon on the bottom right corner next to the queue.

It seems the lyrics getting out of sync when fast-forwarding is only happening with high bitrates. Everything until 320kbps works fine. But FLACs run out of sync. Tried it with Tidal switching the audio resolution. Maybe it’s because of the bigger buffering with HighRes-tracks.

Tested this extensively and obviously all those changes are extremely useful - great job by the Team! A few comments though, just in case you would like to address those in the future versions:
1) Night mode - it is very usable, however still not perfect. I could imagine many potential improvements to this, but those probably would not make sense to implement as this feature does not seem to be in high demand (and probably each user may have its own preferences and mine are not necessarily representative for the broader population:)0. One thing however would increase the utility of the night mode very significantly while being very easy to implement: could you consider adding to your selection of Display Backgrounds (now: color and blur) the third one called "Black" - where everything would be displayed against "flat black" (instead of colors "borrowed" from the album art). It in itself would look very classy and clean (and I would use it as a default), but more importantly: when combined with the night mode it would be close-to-perfect for the night sessions.
2) Lyrics - very nice addition moving the app to the entirely new level (as far as I know the Apple-TV Wiim Home is the only control app that can do this trick)! As reported by some other users, sometimes the lyrics are not in sync and quite often are reported as "not available yet" while there are properly displayed e.g. within Tidal. Also on several occasion the entirely wrong lyrics (i.e. coming from some other songs) have been displayed while I was playing some Tidal playlists. I understand that the lyrics functionality is still in beta and would likely get improved with time - but even "as is" it is absolutely great add-on that allows me to use the app solo - without necessity to switch back and forth to e.g. Tidal to see the lyrics. Absolutely killer feature!
3) One minor bug still continues from the first version - the volume displayed by the app does not adjust when the volume is changed e.g. by the remote. As a result the following situation is possible: a) initial volume is e.g. 70% and displayed as such by the Apple TV app, b) then: the volume is decreased to e.g. 20% via the remote, but Apple TV still shows 70%, c) this would be absolutely no problem, but when one would like to change the volume via the Apple TV app now it would JUMP to 70% and be adjusted from this level. For me it is not a big deal, but I guess worth reporting.
But those aside - Apple TV app gets significantly better with each next version and already now it is invaluable addition to the Wiim ecosystem. Many thanks for such a great job!

The Black background has been requested many many times, also for the Ultra display but @WiiM Team has not been responding to this request.

Do not know that story, but WiiM Team was so kind to positively response to the proposal of the Night Mode, so probably would not have anything against improving it a bit further? Especially as here it is not only aesthetics (blur and color work fine from this angle), but serves the purpose?

Hey. Just got the ultra and totally blown away by it. We were playing hi-res from tidal via the wiim app using an android tablet with the wiim tv app on our ATV 4K 3rd gen and we also found the lyrics were glitchy. We changed to using the tidal app and tidal connect on out android tablet and not only is everything clearer and punchier etc but the lyrics haven't glitched once...is this just a coincidence...I dunno but it works for us, maybe see what you think....
