Hi all,
This is to “complain” about inconsistence of Devices Grouping. I found Optical cable link is more reliable. Here’s my gears & configurations:
1. I have Amp Pro, and Mini (for Airplay); I use both Apple Music and Qobuz
2. Preferred setup: use Amp Pro for Qobuz and Mini for AMusic (then connect devices via Toslink). For this, I have no dropouts (need to resume AMusic) or silence (Mini and AM keep playing but no sound). In short: perfect, but need to switch devices
3. Troublesome setup: I found that I can use grouping, in which Mini will be leader and broadcast signal to Amp Pro (via wifi). Advantages are better bandwidth (wifi 6), unified streaming source (Mini can stream both Qobuz (Connect) and Apple Music (Airplay)), and no optical cable needed. Perfect world. But, there’s always a “but”, I experienced dropped music (Mini and AM stop playing) or even worse, a deadly silence although AM and Mini are still playing.
My questions:
- Are those issues addressed by WiiM team? And if so, what is the solution?
- I assume maybe Mini is too weak. Should Pro Plus solve the issue since it’s much more powerful?
- I love Apple Music, and Amp Pro. Any solution for Airplay? I play via iPhone.
Thanks!
