Wiim Ultra and optical auto switch

Hi,

I just bought following optical auto switch https://www.lindy.eu/2-Port-Automatic-Optical-Audio-Switch.htm?websale8=ld0101.ld021102&pi=70436 to use between a Cambridge CXN100 streamer and a Wiim Ultra streamer. Auto switch is working fine to switch from Wiim Ultra to CXN100 but not from CXN100 to Wiim Ultra.

Any idea to resolve this issue ?

Thanks,
François-Régis
Hi,

I honestly not sure, but that could be an optical switch issue.
BTW, does it work the same if you swap the input ports that the two devices are connected to?
(i.e. if the Ultra is connected to port 1, it will connect to port 2).

Same behaviour, it does not switch to Wiim Ultra as it does when trying from Wiim Ultra to CXN100... and selecting manually related inputs work fine. It is just auto mode which do not work for the wiim input in one way.

Per information, i am using an analog to optical DAC converter for the CXN100 but not for the wiim ultra. I just swap and used the DAC converter for the wiim ultra and auto switch work fine from the CXN100 to Wiim Ultra. Also, the DAC converter seem to convert to PCM 48khz. I think using 2 DAC converter (one for each device) will make auto switch working fine. Do you think so ?

Sorry, I don't know, I have never used them, but if they work with a DDC? connected, I think it would be a good idea to add another one and see if it works.

Also, maybe is it possible to PCM output with Wiim Ultra ?
Yes
