Hi - I heard a WiiM Ultra a couple of weeks ago at a HiFi show in Bangkok and liked what I heard. I use Qobuz on my desktop and phone and the staff at the show said that Qobuz Connect will be supported with the next softare update. So yesterday, I went to a hifi shop here in Bangkok to listen to a WiiM Ultra again. At the shop, the sales staff could only get connectivity and sound via Bluetooth. By wifi, it appeard to be connected but there was no sound. At this point they started talking rapidly in Thai and I couldn't keep up. I know they said the Ultra had the latest software and kept mentioning "the codex." They ended up saying that, because Qobuz isn't officially available in Thailand, WiiM devices sold here don't support wifi connectivity. I'm skeptical because we successfully connected via Bluetooth. Can anybody explain why this happened and if there is a fix? Thanks.

Welcome.

Do you live in Thailand?
It's possible that qobuz connect isn't available in Thailand, but as you use it on your phone (and assuming you live there) the comment that qobuz isn't available seems strange.
You should be able to use qobuz with an ultra in a number of ways even if qobuz connect isn't available.
e.g. chromecast from the qobuz app, qobuz from within the wiim app, upnp to the wiim from another app on your phone, such as bubbleupnp if android.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes, I live in Thailand and was told that Qobuz Connect was coming in the next WiiM software update. That was 2 weeks ago. So, when I went to listen at the hifi shop and saw Qobuz Connect on my iphone, I thought that the update had arrived. But, there was no sound. But, Bluetooth worked fine. So, it seems that the Connect update hasn't arrived. Looks like I must keep checking for the update.

Qobuz connect itself has arrived on the wiims (except mini), was just wondering whether it's a geography / location thing, like alexa cast not being available in some countries,

It could simply be that your phone and the wiim were on different networks. Would be the most likely explanation I reckon.
