So, this is my setup, and I need some guidance.
Denon AVR S730H
WiiM Ultra
Elac Debut 3.0 DB63
RSL Speedwoofer 10S MKII
Fluance RT83 Turntable
Denon DCD-600NE
I have everything connected to the WiiM Ultra, with speakers and sub connected to the Denon AVR. I have the Ultra set at Line Out with fixed volume 100% and control the volume via the Denon AVR. System sounds quite amazing to me, the best I’ve ever owned. I wanted to see what would happen if I used the sub-out on the Ultra so I could utilize the bass management. I connected the RSL Sub to the Ultra with a wireless transmitter. Turned off fixed volume on the Ultra, and turned up the volume on the Denon AVR, so I could control the volume with the Ultra remote. It sounds terrible. The bass is low and muddy. I played around with all of the settings and no matter what I did it fell way short of what it sounds like connected to the Denon AVR. Can anyone shed some light on what’s going on and help me out here? There’s no way the sub should sound like this after all I’ve read about the WiiM bass management so I must be doing something wrong. I was considering getting the new WiiM Vibelink amp but now I’m not so sure.
