Hello,

has the maximum number of tracks in the waiting list changed recently (previously limited to 500 tracks)?

Thank you for your reply.

Hi uds,

There was an update last year that increased the queue limit on some devices. For example, as of May 15, 2025, the WiiM Pro Plus supports playback queues up to 3,000 tracks as part of performance improvements.

That said, the actual limit can still vary depending on the source (streaming service, DLNA, etc.) and how tracks are added.

If you’re seeing different behavior, feel free to share your setup and source, and we can help narrow it down 👍

...and thanks again for the reply.

My setup consists of a WiiM Ultra connected via optical to active Dynaudio speakers, plus a WD My Cloud server containing approximately 8,000 tracks (FLAC, WAV, MP3)—which I like to play A L L in shuffle mode.

What options are available?

Thanks for your response.

Does the WD have a media server, or is it just SMB?

If the former, how about something like X hundred random tracks at a time?
Surely you don't need more than that in a single session :)
I use bubbleupnp (Android) for that; takes very little time put 500 random tracks into a playlist from approx 10,000 tracks.

Using bubbleupnp again, if I look at my files via a SMB share and just choose to shuffle play from the top level folder, it takes maybe a minute to put 10,000 tracks in the playlist in a random order.
