Hi,

I am looking at buying a pro, what I can't work out is whether you can use it with a dlna server as a source and then play to Amazon echo devices with that source.

No, Amazon echo MRM groups typically take their input from alexa cloud supported services and don’t support local external input.

Amazon’s Echo Link (in the USA) does support what they call line-in distribution to achieve what you want , but that’s not a feature of WiiM devices. Plus you’d need something to accept your DLNA Server output then connect that to the Echo Link aux input.

Edit: while some older echo models do have a line in, that’s just for individual devices, again they can’t then send that to other devices.

AFIK this is (currently) not possible.
WiiM currently provides a beta firmware version enabling the Pro to work as Airplay2 sender. May be they enlarge the ability to stream input of the Pro using other protocols ...

Guess that might be a possibility - as I say, the echo link does that and given the WiiM firmware supports Alexa MRM, it’s not beyond the bounds of possibility if the Amazon MRM API allows it.
