WiiM won’t play my mp3’s

MP3s are on my Sinology NAS, and the built-in media server is running. Wiim has access to the share on the NAS. I can see the music directories via the WiiM app. I can also see the song thumbnails and each song. When I play a song, Wiim loads the thumbnail, and it seems to try to play the song for a few seconds. I see the little waveform at the bottom of the app, like it’s playing. Then, the song just stops. Nothing is ever played.

I can play all songs by accessing the NAS and navigating to the music directory via the NAS file manager. I can also play all songs from my iPad useing FE File explorer or from my Mac using Apple Music, and using my PC, so it’s not a file access issue. It's most likely a media server issue on NAS. If you have a similar setup, I would like your thoughts.

Welcome.
"Wiim has access to the share on the NAS" - are you accessing the files via an SMB share?
Have you enabled the nas's media server, or installed another on it, such as minimserver?
i.e. try accessing the files via Home Music Share / media server in the wiim app.

Thanks for the response.

It’s fixed. SBM was already running, so I dug deeper into Synology’s media server and found an “Advanced Media Extensions” package. From the description, it didn’t seem like it was needed. It’s working after the installation of that package.:-)

Cheers

Good you have been able to solve this. Just one more remark:

Wiim has access to the share on the NAS.
Since the Synology media server is running, the WiiM Pro does not need to have access to the SMB share. WiiM do support both ways, but media servers are discovered automatically and offer more features than adding an SMB share from the WiiM Home app.

In this case the solution was obviously unrelated and you still need SMB access to the music share from your computer, of course, so you can upload and manage the files.
