The Spotify integration is nice but a lot of Android users are using YouTube music. Is an integration possible? Can you please add an integration with youtube music?
I know that it can be done through the real watch hours, but would be handful and better to have it on the wiim app, like the one with Amazon music.
Not without an API. Why not use Chromecast? The Spotify integration is nice but a lot of Android users are using YouTube music. Is an integration possible?
Around 1:50 in in this video, they say they’re doing YouTube Music…Not without an API. Why not use Chromecast?
I'm not sure anyone prefers accessing their online services using the WiiM app vs the service's native app.Can you please add an integration with youtube music?

i was reading through their documentation, and it clearly states there that these are unofficial implementations. kudos to the devs for trying it.I'm not sure anyone prefers accessing their online services using the WiiM app vs the service's native app.
I wouldn't refer to the implementations as integrated, more like connected with basic control.
Music Assistant, which I'm currently testing to replace LMS, does have proper library integration for YTM along with Apple (in beta) and several other popular services and can stream to WiiM.

...and it's written in Python, one of today's most-used languages, vs the long-in-the-tooth Perl used by LMS. You've piqued my interest, thanks! Wasn't aware of this project.I'm not sure anyone prefers accessing their online services using the WiiM app vs the service's native app.

The integration is impeccable, my local and online YTM libraries appear as one with additional albums and tracks for the artist combined and linked for online music.i was reading through their documentation, and it clearly states there that these are unofficial implementations. kudos to the devs for trying it.
but i'm curious - have you used either one? how well does it work?
I've never understood why Sonos has the largest library of music & audio services - they outrun all other systems. Possibly because they have a huge user base and can attract music services on this alone.Lack of Youtube Music integration is not related to technical limitation (i.e. not API). It is all about commercial/license agreement. For example, SONOS has YTM integrated in their app.
If you’re using Chromecast to play YouTube to your WiiM then the resolution/quality won’t be shown as WiiM says the info they can extract from the stream is unreliable so they’re rather show nothing than something inaccurate.Till you'll integrate YouTube, can you let us to see the quality of the song it's playing? Thanks
No, I have same problem as yours chromecast is not reliable for ultra. It uses different version from previous wiim. If you have other wiim like pro use those. Chromecast on previous wiim works out of the box.Chromecast connection: youtube music -> Wiim Ultra takes around 15 seconds from the moment I click connect, until music starts playing. Is this a normal wait time?
So I suppose there is a high chance they will fix it over time. That's good. No, I have same problem as yours chromecast is not reliable for ultra. It uses different version from previous wiim. If you have other wiim like pro use those. Chromecast on previous wiim works out of the box.
As a consumer that you pay for it, you want it working as advertised without going on waiting on update. So I suppose there is a high chance they will fix it over time. That's good.
