Just tested adding the gain. I set it to +12dB now. So far it seems this is a proper solution, subwoofer wakes up on very modest volumes.

I have issues getting the subwoofer to wake-up. Essentially the sub-out works, but I need to crank up the volume, or find a bass heavy track to get my subwoofer to wake up. Often times, I'm just listening to music in the background and can really recognize the subwoofer waking up in the middle...

Most of your issues seem to be related to bluetooth. I don't use bluetooth, so can't say if it's normal. However, it doesn't sound acceptable, so I would contact the support. The other issues (pops on wake-up, HDMI-ARC drop-out) I have not witnessed. Initially had a lot of issues with HDMI, but...

This is the reason i wanted to limit the max as well. Happened a few times, had to dive to the amp and turn down the volume before permanently damaging hearing or gear. Could be some other way to reduce the possibility of max volyme by accident.

Never lived in Germany, visited many times. The impression I have is that it's quite conservative. Cash still used in a lot of places, small hardware stores exists even in downtown Munich. It's what we had in the 80s/90s in Northern Europe. The change will eventually come ;)

I believe there is eventually only room for one option, not both. There will always be the niche markets with low volumes, high prices. But that niche will be so small, you will not anymore have electronic (or hi-fi) stores even in all larger cities to supply. That will make it even more niche...

With FW 5.0.609952 seems to be no issues after half a week of use. Sound from TV worked every time so far.

Mine is the same as before. It's about 50-50 chances of it working. Update made zero difference.

If the issue is related to latest active input source, it would be software issue on Wiim side and nothing to do with quality of ARC standard. Just saying.
