    WiiM Ultra Firmware v5.2.709956 - Mar 6, 2025

The constant stream of updates and fixes blows me away...you guys at @WiiM Team are amazing...thank you, it definitely enhances the ownership experience.

    Newbie here!

If you're not sure about all the options and questions and just want to get sound, start with something cheap like this Aiyima A07 max for 78 bucks or so. If it works for you and you just need more power, then buy another and run in mono mode. If it doesn't work for you, well, you haven't...

    Low sub out level

Thanks Matt. I ended up changing output voltage back to 2 as it just seemed to sound better...maybe I was just being fooled by volume increase. I then boosted sub volume most of the way in SVS app. EQ then boosts a little more depending on source. All seems good. Cheers.

Streaming to WiiM over WiFi (Windows)

Windows can stream over wi-fi. Media player has a 'cast to device' option. Ultra shows dlna connection. The missing capability may be with MusicBee.

    good CD choice

The player works just fine, nice and small which is what I wanted and TOSLINK connect works well (13" wide and Ultra is less than 8"). Displays track info ok but not something I'm bothered about considering I sit 15ft away and it's about 5/8" square. I just wanted a functional transport at a...

    Animated frequency display

The screen is too small for any frequency display. Would be better to see if HDMI out could be added so that screen display can be a on TV for album art etc. Maybe then frequency display would be an interesting novelty.

can't help but be slightly disappointed

I second that. The nitpicking baffles me when this is obviously a frikkin' awesome product that crams in a ton of amazing features and audio quality for a crazy low price. The WiiM folks do a staggeringly good job at delivering features and bug fixes and it must cause them to roll their eyes...

    Low sub out level

I'd seen output voltage and not put 2 and 2 together. I reduced to 1 and the levels are more balanced now. Thanks for the insights, much appreciated.

    Low sub out level

I do everything in the WiiM app for sub settings, LFE mode active in the sub with no eq or room gain active. The only thing I've done in SVS app is the 5 db boost and will likely do that in WiiM app as well after I've finished testing and twiddling.

    Low sub out level

Audio out from Ultra to Emotiva is analog RCA connection. No means to like for like check SPDIF.

    Low sub out level

Yes, I can boost 5db in WiiM app or in SVS app to compensate. My point really is that like for like, with same settings, the sub output seems 5db-ish down when using Ultra with power amp combo. I have crossover at 100hz on both Amp and Ultra.

    Low sub out level

I recently switched out from a WiiM Amp driving speakers and subwoofer to an WiiM Ultra (driving sub) with Emotiva A2 power amp driving speakers. I've noticed the sub level needs to be boosted about 5db (in SVS app) to achieve the same outcome. No big deal, I'm not suggesting an issue or...

Is there a sense of buying streamer ?

You can control streaming service on your phone and cast the screen to tv. That works well enough and doesn't require hdmi out (which would be a better option).

    ARC problem

Any update on this issue? I'm considering getting a Samsung tv, connecting hdmi to WiiM Amp and chucking my Denon AVR with its ridiculous complexity and 1990's UI. Can the amp effectively replace an AVR (I'm fine with 2.1) or is it a non-starter with certain tv brands?

"Check for updates" option disappeared from "Device Info" section

That's the only answer I've ever had. It always auto-updates when it's good and ready and before I can ever do a check.
