It seems like a really good idea, especially where one speaker might be sufficient in a room (assuming it is happy playing in mono). Of course, will need to hear how it performs, and multiroom options are limited by the obligatory lack of AirPlay.
Our demo of the Sound compared to the Era300 mirrors your comments exactly. Also, for kitchen use, the Alexa microphone built in to the Sonos is an undoubted advantage.
Forgive me, but I am not sure how this thread is of relevance to a WiiM forum. Or learn anything from it beyond the fact that some charity shops sell CDs.
I said here a long time ago that I feel this is one of the fundamental questions related to modern hifi, but one which much of the hifi press seem to go to great lengths to try and avoid answering. Namely, purely from a sound quality perspective, is there any advantage to having a DAC fed by a...
I am still deciding which of these to place in a largish kitchen. I have a WiiM Pro Plus based main system and spare Amazon Echo and WiiM Mini. My requirements are:
1. The speaker needs to be Alexa voice controllable (being a kitchen, after all)
2. It needs to be able to occasionally be...
I know you have the caveat in your last sentence, but I do find it difficult to believe there has been such a reduction in LMS usage over the space of just a year. It makes me wonder if there has been an issue with the analytics plugin for new installations at some point.
Regarding the OP’s...
Can I ask if your Chord DAC is a Mojo 2? It is designed to switch off after a few minutes of optical signal inactivity and therefore does so on a regular basis with me, even when I am using my Mini or Pro Plus. From my experience, you are lucky this does not happen with two out of your three...
I am considering a smart speaker for our kitchen and am torn between finding out more about the Sound or plumping for a Sonos Era 300 which, with its current 25% discount, is now comparable in price and I know sounds really good.
As I see it, the Era has at least 2 advantages compared to the...
I am curious that several weeks after the launch there are not too many other reviews of the Sound’s, well, sound. Here or elsewhere online. Does anyone else have any opinion about the speaker’s sound quality, either on its own or in comparison to other alternatives like the HomePod or Sonos...
In the picture I think I can see a WiiM Amp Ultra and (even) a WiiM Sound. Recently, these sort of WiiM promotions have excluded the newest models, so it will be interesting to see if these components are included in this sale.
Yes, it does indeed, which I presume is its main use. It means it can then be used to, say, stream LMS to your wireless headphones or through a DAC, needing no other device, such as a WiiM.
