Would guess that's the opposite case as the RME when used as a preamp would apply better audio execution than on the WiiM Ultra. Yes, I own the RME. It's simply outstanding on all inputs.

It does and more people and industry people are sharing just that. I've switched from an LPS to a Talentcell 5v usb powered battery into a WiiM Pro and it's done great in my system. YMMV The cost of entry to test though is very low.

Tried two different power sources for a WiiM Pro: a 5v LPS and then a TalentCell battery powered 5v solution. The latter proved to be far better than the first. There's been a lot of cries about it from the denialists. Also, you can see Ian Canada has built DAC and streamer solutions around...

Thanks, I'm not on beta. As stated, I'm on the October 10th firmware: 4.8.731953. There's a tuning of the new firmware as I've been told so we have to chillax.

Usually see the firmware rollout but here I am wondering if something happened because still on the October 10th firmware and no amount of checking sees any update. Know I can't ask for a download but I've changed my standby time to "Never" in the hopes that this firmware upgrade finds me...

No doubt here on the RME. As noted previous, no lps impact. They said that in their own forum but I did try it before seeing their prelates posts. Some keep requesting a LPS. They made one. Next!
