I've been seeing dropouts with the WiiM Pro. This only began with the January OS release.
When that happens, restarting the WiiM Pro brings back normal functioning. I hope a new OS release fixes it.
That's exactly what I did. After trying it in my tube amp monoblock system, I was very impressed.
It crushed Roon, Bye-bye. It's no contest with Audirvana, and it's completely taken my system to its best performance ever. YMMV.
Today, I altered those up time settings from 10 to 10,000. (I'm...
Mine is on 24-7, run by a 5v external power supply.
As for WiiM's next stop, I think the path to Room Correction is simply outstanding and must continue with a I²S output being a necessity with any theoretical WiiM Ultra 2 release.
Would like to see a design that allows for an external power...
Stopped going there a while maybe years back. Amir’s boys run amok attacking anyone who doesn’t bend the knee and then censor. I fought those tools on a minor issue on an RME firmware upgrade. RME made an appearance saying no sound impact which meant the improvement was solely due to using a...
Appreciate your reply here, Smartplug. I'm going to say some things and hopefully not offend anyone. First, I've tested my WiiM Pro against different scenarios many times. Using a direct Mac Mini running Qobuz or a M1 Macbook Air running Audirvana, Roon or Qobuz via Chromecast and direct. The...
At one time, I had NHT Xd subwoofers running. They generated a lot of bass in the room. More than I'd ever need. 🐴
Contemplated the speaker rating but after removing and replacing the crossovers and replacing all the electrolytics among others, I've convinced myself they can run at 20.
From my...
After the bump, I ran the entire three series again today. Last night, I was listening to "Time" by Pink Floyd and it was like nothing I had ever heard before. I have special monoblock tube amps and they are not all that powerful but the output was smooth and better than ever. It just pumped...
So, I did the R & L RC to very good results and also the beta three tests in a row.
Then tonight, I noted earlier in this thread about the "Equalize Freq." in Room Correction.
First went down from 40 to 28Hz. Wow, that was really nice. Great improvement in the lower end.
Then dropped it all...
You are correct. Under the BK-Harman-Flat options which are on the wheel when you launch Room Correction on the top right are a number of options. Multi-measurements (Beta). See EddnNog's photo above from inside the Room Correction wheel link.
I turned this on and then ran the Room Correction...
The external microphone is not a requirement to implement the updated Room Correction. I've used an iPhone and an iPad but dug out an external Shure microphone I had bought some years back for $80. It seemed to do the best connected to an old iPad so I kept one setting that way and another on...
Completed the new settings for independent right and left channels and in my sensitive monoblock amplifier system, it's outstanding!
Had to run the tests for it twice but the improvement is such a great benefit. YMMV.
Used an external Shure microphone attached to an iPad running the WiiM RC...
Setup the RC via iPhone with WiiM Pro, so a few questions about when it's in "actual use."
Obviously, when you are using the WiiM app on an iPhone or iPad for a service like Qobuz or similar, it's active in that setup.
My question is what about when you are using a desktop MAC OS and running...
