This is a good suggestion which I would also like implanted for my WiiM Amp. So turn of the usb 5v output when the WiiM is in standby mode.

How satisfying that the Onkyo cassette deck and Ultra sit nicely side by side to fill the width of the full size hifi components. I coincidently acquired a cassette deck just this month which is also an Onkyo and also silver. But mine in full size; yours is very cute.

Another basic troubleshooting step would be to try a different usb cable. Also: what make / model is your dac?

Sounds like an annoying problem. Have you submitted feedback via the app (under settings)? That’s the best way to get attention for your problem.

In one week I have seen zero issues.

Great research. Auto switching is — as far as I’m concerned — one of the killer features. It probably much harder to implement than it looks.

Well at least this solution is working well for me. Maybe a component or two more in the chain than I would’ve liked but it’s fine. Specswise it’s on par with (maybe slightly above) a solution with either the Ultra or the Amp Pro. And having two mono amps does instil a sense of superiority 😜

When I first heard of the WiiM Amp I knew it would be the best solution for our living room, with “our” being me and my family. I was not particularly happy with the Denon (stereo) receiver I had (DRA-800H) and I sold that to largely pay for the WiiM Amp. Functionally the Amp is perfect for me...

I had this and never warmed to it. The WiiM amp sounds about the same if not beter and is much nicer to use. YMMV.

Talk of airplay is at least about WiiM gear and its functionality. These remarks on the other hand… :rolleyes:

I know how a device in my home is best used and that includes AirPlay. Your house is different and that’s fine. And I can say that without sounding condescending. Give it a try.

I’ll give you an even better idea: instead of using RCA, use the Express’ built-in optical output. The mini jack port is dual function: it also accepts mini-Toslink. That way you use the (probably much much better) DAC of the Ultra.

I’d like to second this request: I’d greatly like inputs to be assigned to the shortcut buttons. I would use this regularly to switch to line in (for vinyl) and switching inputs in the app is really quite cumbersome.

My experience: they are hot but not too hot.
