Well, it is not just a matter of playing music as I can already do it via Airplay or connecting directly the Mac to the WiiM Amp, it is about controlling the device itself and configuring it. For that you still need to grab the smartphone and do it from there
Hi all,
is there any way to interact with a WiiM device from the desktop of the most widespread OSes?
On ARM based Macs it is possible to install the iPad version and it works fine, what about the others?
Have a nice day

Yes, I understood, that's why I wrote "actually test" :)
Thank you for your useful and clear explaination. The reachable volume is my main concern because I already got some troubles with cheaper headphone amps
I am evaluating to buy Ultra to drive a pair of Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro (320 Ohm) and your comment about being "too much for the Ultra" makes me curious. Did you actually test yours with the headphones out from the Ultra? That would be useful to know...
Hi,
this is good news, it's the right approach.
I am sure that in a short while we will have more information about feaures and roadmap as result of this collaboration.
Yes, true. Plex could be treated as any other streaming service regardless its network proximity. I actually even tried to use my Plex server over a VPN but didn't work either
I was one of the beta testers so I know what is available to date. What I mean is: I think that WiiM know that some users would like to have the Plex music cast feature. As it is not a technologically prohibitive feature, if it fits the roadmap we will see it. Optimistic view? Maybe but, why...
I think we haven't yet seen WiiM's solution, just the first step. Moreover it should be recognized WiiM's reactivity in approaching this integration and providing something usable in short time, IMHO
I think it is easier for WiiM developers to move on a known terrain starting by integrating Plex as a source and managing the playback in a proprietary (and well known) application. We have the first link between the two platforms, let's see the next move.
