Well, I'm happy with my q acoustics. its just that with the amp ultra, it needs to play at higher volumes to really "sing".
which is better suited for listening from a couch. perfect when it's wifey or daughter listening to pop music.
Whereas my own Personal use case is for near field, desktop...
I have Wiim Amp Ultra (and wiim pro). great for a compact all in one but when it comes to movies, it still can't beat my decade old, entry level denon avr-x1200. So if tv/movies are your primary use case, your old receiver is probably better, especially if you have a sub and a center speaker
perhaps a WiiM Pro is better if you'll be using HA-1's DAC.
my original setup was Wiim Pro to SMSL M500MK II DAC to SMSL A300 Amp. My PC is directly connected to A300's USB Port to minimize latency.
For my desktop righ, I used to have Wiim Pro, connected to an SMSL M500 MKII DAC, to an SMSL A300 Amp powering QAcoustics 3030i.
The speakers, although bulky for a desktop rig, are chosen for its bass capabilities and its tweeter shortcomings was resolved by the ESS9038PRO DAC Chip.
Wifey gave...
In my case, I'm using SPDIF/TOSLINK at 24bit/192Khz.
Fixed Volume Output - Enabled
MQA Beta -> Enabled
External DAC - MQA
Mono Audio - Disabled
Still no Joy! My DAC still indicates PCM instead of MQA
