A10 MKII Stereo Pair and Google Cast

I just got a pair of A10 MKII speakers. I am able to group them as a stereo pair and use Spotify Connect to play music to them in stereo. When using Google Cast, it is my understanding you have to group them in the Google Home app. However, this just creates a group of two mono speakers. Is there any way to Google Cast to them as a stereo pair? If not, has anybody seen any plans to implement this in the future? Is it possible that the upcoming implementation of persistent groups will allow this? Thanks for your help.

In the google home app, choose one of the devices, then under its cog/settings icon, choose audio then stereo pair. You don’t create a group as such.
