Active or passive Sub?

I'm a recent owner of the Amp Pro and thinking about getting a sub. Would a passive Subwoofer work? Or is it better to get an active one and why.

For a sub I‘d always go active, as they are power hungry…

Unless you already have a capable amplifier to drive a passive subwoofer, an active subwoofer is a better choice because built-in amp is already matched with speaker driver. Driving a speaker driver in low frequency such as subwoofer requires higher nominal power rating. So, active subwoofer is a less risky choice.
