Adding a bit of kit to my existing set up for sound balancing etc

Hi all

OK, so I've got my local file library pretty much sorted now as it was all over the place with regards to quality and tags etc.

1) Everything I have is 24bit with all files being 44.1khz or above
2) I intend to run everything through DBPoweramp to a setting of 24bit 48khz for evenness
3) I intend to run everything through DBPoweramp to apply ReplayGain tags and then to apply ReplayGain settings as per instructions from DBP

So that's where I'm at - but - that will give all my music tags (for album art etc) and also normalize the volume etc... however.... what does wind me up immensely is that some tracks have no bass others have far too much. Is there a bit of kit I can buy to put in my system that will balance everything out sonically? If so, what is it and do you have any suggestions :)

I want my experience to be the best really, how do you all manage to keep everything without having to constantly adjust either the level of the sub or main speakers to get that blend and achieve the best sonic results?

Once I've cracked this (hopefully with your help) then I'm done, I'm all set :) I can sit back, relax and enjoy the music !!

Many thanks as always for all the advice you guys give on here, I follow many threads with interest and have learnt so much.

What do you mean by this? You only need to add Replaygain tags, nothing else. Don't use the "Apply Replaygain" option unless you want your files to be permanently altered.

Ah really? I didn't realize that... so as long as it's tagged with Replaygain then WiiM will see that (presuming I have it ticked) and everything will be the same?

Awesome - thanks so much :)
