Airplay Stutters, Stops playing; Everything else is perfect

I bought my unit used on FB Marketplace and it works perfectly, except Airplay stutters a lot and sometimes stops and I have to reset the stream. The biggest reason I bought it is to use PEQ, and I read another thread where another user had the same issue and claimed it is caused by simultaneous use of Airplay and EQ.

I use apple music, so airplay is the easiest way to stream it, but I just got a free trial for spotify and spotify connect works perfectly, so I'm considering switching. I sent a support ticket 2 days ago, if there is no resolution possible I may just pay the subscription.

Is this an issue everyone has? I know airplay isn't very popular for apple music since it doesn't stream lossless so perhaps that's why this issue is overlooked.

Hi,
Does turning off the EQ resolve the issue? If so, then I believe that is indeed the cause, as you heard.
(Sorry, I don't have an iOS device so I can't check.)

Additionally, please try replacing the power adapter connected to the Mini with one rated at 5V/2.5A or higher to see if this resolves the issue.

I have it connected to an apple 20W 5V/3A usbc charger. I turned off EQ and it seems to have removed the stutter in my short listening, but this is sort of a non-negotiable for me, I need to use eq. Is there any possibility that this will be addressed? What could be the cause of this, how is airplay different from other wifi streaming?

I doubt it will resolve the issue, but please try another power adapter just in case.

As far as I understand, Airplay operates in a similar manner to Bluetooth. It transmits music played on your phone to the WiiM device via the local network. In contrast, with casting features like Spotify Connect, the WiiM device plays the music directly, and your phone then acts as a remote controller.

The precise cause of the issue is unknown, but it may be due to insufficient hardware resources on the Mini. (There have been reports that this issue doesn't occur on the WiiM Pro.)

I recommend submitting a ticket via the feedback section in the WiiM app.
(WiiM home > More > Feedback)

Your device logs will be sent, which will help resolve the issue.

Thanks for your help, a ticket has been sent. Is there any way to know how long a response will take?

Based on past experience, urgent tickets typically receive a response within one to two days. However, the support team may not respond to ticket.

Please read the 'Ticket Received' email delivered to your inbox. Further details are provided there.

tbh, if PEQ is your prime goal then this is probably what you'll need to do.
As you've seen, trying to use both airplay and peq on the mini is 'problematic'.

Or, maybe use this as an excuse to get more Wiims!
To put it mildly, I couldn't agree more.
