Amp Pro running really hot

Hello,
I recognized that my Wiim Amp Pro is suddenly running really hot.
When touching it I almost burn my hands and do not know why this is happening, I'm really afraid about that high temperatures.

When checking the temperature via API (https://<IP-ADRESS>/httpapi.asp?command=getStatusEx) I see following:
"PCB_version": "1"
"firmware": "Linkplay.5.2.717556"
"temperature_power_control": "1000"
"temperature_cpu": "57"
"temperature_tmp102": "58"

This can't be normal I guess? For now I will unplug and not further use it.

Hope someone from Wiim can reply to my post and give me an instruction what to do.

Best regards
Hi Amiibo,

The case of my Amp Pro is really hot.
I also compared the temps shown via API to my normal Wiim Amp, which shows a much lower CPU temperature and has a cool case:
"temperature_cpu": "39"

So i suspect something being wrong with my Amp Pro.
If it helps to know, my unit was suddenly running very hot in standby mode of all things. I restarted it, switched functions, and all is normal again. It's definitely not supposed to be running hot.

Hi @Archguy,

The temperature is not normal when the device is in standby mode. Please submit a ticket and let us know the ticket number. Our engineer will take a look at your device immediately. Thank you!

Thanks — Do you think I should do this even though the issue seems resolved?

Updated to the new firmware:

I'm currently testing if temperatures decreased, based on a reduced CPU usage.
Long term test started, thanks for improving your products WiiM Team!

The case is the heatsink. If you see any teardown videos you'll note various heat pads ensuring key components have contact with the case, so heat is transferred to the aluminium case to remove heat from inside.
