Amp Ultra / Vibelink combo - min impedance and possible zoning

Hi,

Looking to understand whether a system per below will work as I’m hoping.

• 4 in ceiling speakers - https://www.krix.com.au/product/ic-50 - 6ohm nominal, 3.6ohm minimum.
• pair of outdoor speakers - https://www.krix.com.au/product/tropix - 8ohm nominal, 5.8ohm minimum
• Looking to use an Amp Ultra plus a Vibelink to run all 6 speakers.

Have a Large rectangular open plan living/dining area, and an outdoor area adjacent.

Would like to pair 2 left and 2 right of the IC50 and then the tropix in stereo for my outdoor area.

Questions

• Impedance.. would like to run the IC50 in pairs connected to a wiim ultra amp. So would present a nominal 3ohm load if wired in parallel - will the amp ultra cope with this?
• Zoning. looking to connect a vibelink off the amp ultra to run the outdoor speakers as mentioned. will the setup allow playing music outdoors but not indoors? Or will I be limited to running the indoors only *or* indoor and outdoor - but never outdoor only?
• Apple Music. As a family we use Apple Music, the kids both have apple home pod minis and we also have a HomePod in the kitchen. will I be better to change to a Spotify subscription with the wiim or is there easy ways to play Apple Music despite the lack of airplay?

You couldn't drive the indoor speakers and the vibelink/outdoor speakers at the same time - WiiM devices only allow one output at a time. That may be academic though as the Amp Ultra only has USB audio out but the vibelink doesn't have USB audio in. You may be better off considering a second WiiM Amp for the second zone, which you could group with the first.

Re Apple Music, much has been discussed in the forum - briefly, you'd need to add a device like a Belkin Sound Connect cabled to the WiiM Amp Ultra (or even a WiiM Mini) to act as an airplay gateway. Going back to your first scenario, rather than a vibelink, a vanilla WiiM Amp could provide Airplay and drive another zone as well.
