I am still deciding which of these to place in a largish kitchen. I have a WiiM Pro Plus based main system and spare Amazon Echo and WiiM Mini. My requirements are:
1. The speaker needs to be Alexa voice controllable (being a kitchen, after all)
2. It needs to be able to occasionally be multi-room connected to the WPP main system using Lyrion and Amazon Music sources.
My problem is that none of the options seem ideal. I initially thought the AP C20, with its WiiMesque firmware and app, would be the best option. However, am I correct in thinking it does not even ‘work with Alexa’, so I would need to use the Echo to communicate with the WiiM Mini and then optical out to the C20? If so, this then looks like the most complicated option, which is so counterintuitive.
Then there is the WiiM Sound, which I know would require connected to the Echo, although I was a little underwhelmed when I heard it.
And then there is the Sonos. Alexa and voice control already in place, but synchronised multiroom would need to be via AirPlay somehow, presumably. Or could AlexaCast figure in this?
Help! Am I missing something that would make any of these options easier to implement than I have described?
