Hello, today I received an SMSL PL150 CD player and I connected it to the WIIM Amp Ultra via optical cable, and even though I have the automatic optical playback option active, it doesn't play. I have to manually switch it to that mode. It's worth noting that I have the automatic HDMI option disabled. What could that be?

I don't have an Ultra, but I thought it was input switch auto sense rather than an auto play per se, but I may be wrong.

Hi
Auto switching from HDMI to Optical input is not possible.
Either switch the input back to Wi-Fi (using a preset) before turning off the WiiM, or switch the input using a preset.

Hola
No es posible cambiar automáticamente de entrada HDMI a entrada óptica.
Vuelva a cambiar la entrada a Wi-Fi (usando un ajuste preestablecido) antes de apagar el WiiM, o cambie la entrada usando un ajuste preestablecido.
I don't use the HDMI input, I read if I'm not mistaken that if both the HDMI and Optical inputs were active the optical one wouldn't work, but I only have the optical one active, I don't want to set the optical input with a preset on the control, since I have all four presets occupied, I have to go into the wiim home app and manually set the optical input, I thought that for example being on the wifi input and turning on the CD player it would automatically switch to optical, but no.

Auto switching from Wi-Fi input to Optical input should work correctly. However, if music is playing over Wi-Fi, you will need to stop and then play a CD (or turn on the CD player). Can you please check.

Did you know that the preset button on the WiiM remote supports 8 presets? Double-clicking on preset 1 activates preset 5. Similarly, double-clicking on preset 4 will activate preset 8.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work. I put music on Amazon through the Wi-Fi connection, turn on the CD player, put in the CD, and press play. It continues playing the Amazon song through the Wi-Fi connection.

You need to stop the Amazon music playback before the WiiM will auto switch to the optical input.

Sorry, I did the procedure incorrectly. Indeed, when I pause playback on Amazon and turn on the CD player, it automatically switches to the optical input. This means that to switch to that input, I have to pause playback on Wi-Fi. Thank you so much for the help!

Does this resolve your issue?

Partly, because if the WIIM is in standby mode and I turn it on, the player still doesn't switch to optical. But that's a minor issue.
A little tip that works for me, is to start your CD playing, and with your WiiM Amp Ultra in standby, try pressing either Volume up, or down on the WiiM remote control, and that should wake up your WiiM, which should then auto select the optical input.

Indeed, that method works well, thank you all very much for your valuable contributions!!
