Hi.
I'm using Sony WH-1000XM4 with WIIM ULTRA.
It's paired and connetion working fine initially.
But after a while (about 10~20) miniute, It sound dddddddd~~ (Clicking sound) and have to re-connect to fix it
So, to listen to music by Bluetooth, have to re-connect every 10~20 min.
What would be the problem?

I have pretty much the same problem with my 1000XM4's connected by Bluetooth to a Wiim mini. It's so annoying. I reported it months ago and it was looked into but there have been no fixes to sort the problem. I don't think it's the headphones because they pair flawlessly with other kit. Fingers crossed that one day it will be sorted.

It seems to me Bluetooth out has lots of issues. They need to address the Bluetooth output by adding some functionality like EQ and reliability.

My Sony headphones are also affected, there are a few posts about it on the forum. Although I raised a ticket with WiiM they appear to be unable to fix the issue. Which is strange as there are many, many device out there using Bluetooth with no such issue.

here is a good example of why wiim is cheap
WiiM devices are made for streaming audio from various online and local network to a connected audio system. Either passively, or directly to speakers using the amplified models. While there is a Bluetooth output mode, it is definitely not a key component of the design in my opinion. Any mobile phone on Android or iOS could easily do this without leaving your pocket and provide a solid BT connection.

Bluesound and Eversolo have reliable Bluetooth transmit. I've not had any issues using the bt tx with a Mini 😁

I know there are other options/workarounds, but it's not the point. It's advertised as a feature, one that's pretty standard across media devices, but it doesn't work properly.

Hey guys, we'd love to get a closer look at what's going on, when you're using the Bluetooth output and have trouble, can you use the WiiM Home app to send in feedback to the team? Let us know what details you can, such as how far you are from the device and if there's anything like walls in the way. Troubleshooting Bluetooth often relies on getting a lot of environmental concerns pinned down.

The Bluetooth inside the Ultra should be pretty good, but there could always be something playing up. I've got a pair of XM4s that I'll test it out with myself and see if I can reproduce what you're describing, it's not a use case that I use often enough to have noticed anything.

This has been reported several times before and usually with the Sony WH-1000XM4. It may be a specific problem with these headphones?

Same problem here with Sony xm4, tense sound after a while, and very important desynchronization of sound in relation to the image. Test carried out with HDMI arc input.

I got messages from WiiM support,

Hi.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. This is a Bluetooth compatibility issue; we recommend prioritising a wired connection.

I submitted a ticket back in April 2025 about this ( https://faq.wiimhome.com/en/support/tickets/529820 ). I sent in a log from the Wiim device and I posted details on what was happening. Someone at Wiim opened a second ticket (531278) and the last response was April 27, 2025:

Apologies for the inconvenience. We have merged the two tickets. Unfortunately, there has been no progress on the Bluetooth output issue yet. Regarding the Sony WH-1000XM4 issue, we have reminded the R&D team to prioritize debugging once the other issues are resolved.

Best regards,
WiiM Support(Ethan)

-------------------------- Details posted by me in ticket 529820 ------------------------------

I sent an update from the app after duplicating the problem so a debug log would be sent.

I played 3 tracks back to back to back to a JBL bluetooth speaker and then to the Sony headphones with ANC on and with ANC off.

Track1: 3m33s
Track2: 3m52s
Track3: 3m23s
Total time: 10m 48sec

I started the 3 tracks to the JBL speaker at approx. 11:45 AM EDT. No problems were encountered during playback.

I started the 3 tracks to the Sony with ANC on at approx. 11:56 AM EDT. The stutter began at 2m into track 3, 9m25s total. I paused play for approx. 15 seconds and the rest of track played normally.

I started the 3 tracks to the Sony with ANC off at approx. 12:15 EDT. The stutter began at 1m46s of track 3, 9m2s total. Again, after a 15 second pause, the rest of the track played normally.

So, it appears that playback to the Sony headphones starts to stutter at a point between 9-10 minutes of playback.

I connected the headphones via a wired connection and no problem occurs.

As previously mentioned, I can connect the headphones via bluetooth to an iPad and play music for hours without any stutter.

No stutter occurs to the JBL bluetooth speaker or to my main sound system via optical out. I can also use the headphones with a wired connection to the main sound system.

When the headphones are connected via bluetooth, I am only 9 feet away from the Wiim Ultra in the same room with no obstructions in the way.

Similar issue with the wh- xb910n by Sony. 😞
Once it loses a good connection it starts either stuttering or sounds like a dust Bunny on a record needle, you can only get it to stop by powering the device on and off, disconnecting and reconnecting whatever ways are available to you, or changing the sound quality settings in the Sony app.
It will happen regardless of the quality versus reliability setting but switching between them will temporarily remedy the issue in my experience.

I had a chance today to test the BT connectivity from a mini to a Sony S400 soundbar and subwoofer and it played with no problems for about 7 hours. With all the problems mentioned in this thread I was preparing myself for BT issues and having to buy a BT adaptor as outlined above.
