Bummer if you use Apple music

The missunderstanding might come from third party (?) websites still mentioning AirPlay, e.g. this one.

Hi Team,

We have clearly stated on our Amazon listing and website for the WiiM Ultra that the device does not support AirPlay, and we have no intention of misleading our buyers. We hope you continue to trust us as before.

We've included a highlighted note, a comparison table, and product specifications to emphasize this. If you have any suggestions to make it clearer, please let us know and we will implement them.
The problem is everyone thought that even if airplay wasn't available immediately it would be available after certification via a firmware update. Only yesterday was it clarified that current Ultras would never have airplay.

So how come that, to this day, in all listings/descriptions of all german dealers, even in the listing of the german distributor, Airplay 2 is listed in the specs???
Could you please provide some example lists? Our team will reach out and address them. We notified our distributors months ago, but some may have been missed.

Its more about the timeline and your all but pro-active explaining of the "issue". The statements are done by pressure, at a certain point the policy of riding out became obvious. No good performance, Gentlemen

HI @DeadBob27 Airplay certification is still pending, and while we don't have a definitive timeline, we chose not to delay the launch of the WiiM Ultra. If you primarily use Airplay to stream music, we recommend waiting until it's certified or looking at other WiiM products certified for Airplay.

How do you explain this it’s from you?

That definitely doesn't say that if you buy one now it will never have airplay.

Hi WiiM Community,

We always strive to be transparent with this forum, sharing early product announcements, specifications, and addressing your concerns and questions. We realize the lack of availability of AirPlay in the WiiM Ultra has caused confusion and we apologize for that. The WiiM Ultra does not support AirPlay and does not function as an AirPlay receiver. At the original launch, we believed we would be able to support AirPlay, which is why many of you saw it in the initial press release. However, we were unable to include it and decided not to delay the launch further, maintaining the additional features of the streamer that provide a high-quality listening experience.

We understand this may be disappointing for our users who primarily use AirPlay, and for those users we'd suggest choosing a different WiiM solution for now. If any users have purchased the Ultra primarily for AirPlay and are unsatisfied with their purchase, the retailers will honor the return based on their policies.

The WiiM Ultra continues to provide exceptional audio, high performance, and value supporting a rich variety of options such as Chromecast Audio, Alexa Casting, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, Amazon Music, Deezer, TuneIn, iHeartRadio, and more.

We apologize for any confusion and dissatisfaction this may have caused, and we appreciate your understanding.

Thank you,
WiiM Team
