Hi Everyone
I've bought Wiim pro plus , it play 44.1/16 fine , I've set out put to 192/24 via Coax to LKS dual 9038 DAC, tested and heard test sound fine , but when I actual play file 24/192 I only hear noise output, the noise is adjustable via volume of the wiim or amp, all 24/192 files play well at other music player , anyone experience this, please shed me some light , Thanks .

Which DAC is this? MH-DA004?

... tested and heard test sound fine , but when I actual play file 24/192 I only hear noise output ...
That's rather strange as the test sound already is at the desired output resolution. What is your streaming source for the 24/192 content? Do you have fixed output resolution enabled or disabled?

Yes it is the MH-DA004 the old one with dual 9038 pro , the streaming source is my phone with local file inside the phone via Wifi , the same phone I stream to my friend Wiim Ultra that work very fine (OfCourse using his wifi) , I can hear the test sound very nicely , the output is not fixed , I will try setting the output fixed today.

It is probably your device that cannot handle the high samling rate.

24/96 is all you will ever need.

The 192 rate is for us when recording and mixing multiple sources.
My DAC has been running 192 for a long time it is OK , the amp has nothing with it , so it is the Wiim problem , Thanks.

So, you are streaming the local files through the WiiM Home App?

Fixed output resolution is something to try, but usually intended to stop clicking or popping noise many DACs introduce when the resolution changes from one song to another. The WiiM Pro Plus will resample everything to the requested output resolution. This also means, that the output will no longer be bit perfect, but as soon as you're using volume control on the Pro Plus it cannot be bit perfect anyway. Not a big thing from my point of view.

I don't really expect it to make a difference, but if it does I cannot see an issue on the WiiM side. Not to be confused with fixed output voltage, of course. :)

Thinking about it some more this sound very odd as well. Normally, if a digital signal is not supported I wouldn't expect the processor (the Pro Plus) to be able to control its volume. Not sure what to make of that yet.

Sure it’s nice to see 24/192 on dac display but the question would you able to tell the difference between 24/96 and 24/192? Many of these high res are just upsampling from their cd counterparts.

Btw, have you already tried all the common troubleshooting?
  • Reboot the WiiM device, factory reset
  • Reinstall WiiM app
  • Reboot the router

In addition to this, I also recommend checking the following.
  • Open the network status in the WiiM app and check the Wi-Fi speed
  • DNS,IPv6 on/off
  • Try Ethernet connection

Edit: If I am not mistaken, the WiiM test sound is stored in the device, so if the test sound plays fine and there are streaming problems, it is most likely a network issue.

Hi I've just did a factory reset , after that file 192/24 played beautifully., Thank a lot everyone for help.
File 192/24 hear different to 44.1/16 more detail and add a bit low frequency .
If I set fix output resolution say 192/24 , even 44.1/16 is upscale to 192/24, but i do not want to upscale anyway
The wifi use 5GHz band.
The next thing I will do is do a room correction .
Thanks again eveyone , much appreciate.

That's all exactly the expected behaviour now. Great. Fixed output resolution really is mostly a workaround for DACs making noises when switching resolution, not a general recommendation.

Something must have gone wrong during initial setup, for whatever reason. Glad to hear it's sorted. (y)
