Cellular access?

On iOS the WiiM app has a cellular data switch. What’s that for? With that on and far from WiFi reach the app does not access my devices…

My take on that is that it’s a generic app permission setting and doesn’t suggest that the app supports it. The WiiM app needs the Wiim devices to be on the same subnet (or to have some fancy rerouting in place) which it won’t have if you’re using your phone on the internet while your Wiim devices are on your local network.

Perhaps but the app asks for that access if it does not find the wifi…

Because that's the phone's only data connection and the app doesn't know better?
