Like Audioquest's Dragonfly Cobalt and others, why not change the status light's color on the Wiim to indicate the sampling rate: white for standby as it is now, green for 44.1kHz, blue for 48kHz, yellow for 88.2 kHz, light blue for 96kHz or purple when decoding MQA.

I've never understood this obsession with sample rates, let alone coloured lights to tell your brain how much better something is based on their colour.
Turn the status light off in the settings, close your eyes and enjoy.
If it sounds bad it's probably the recording itself, your gear or your room.
But not the sample rate it's been published at ;)

I think I read somewhere that the LED they use is not a RGB LED, so the colors that can be used is very limited. But maybe I'm wrong.
Perhaps it could pulse gently for 44kHz but flash like a mentalist banshee for 192kHz 😎 ...this may not be the most practical suggestion, and would probably be REALLY annoying if it caught your eye
🤔
