Is the amp in a Room within the google home app?
It's been known to cause issues when it's not.

I've not added the amp to my Google home app
I can cast from my phone to my TV and tablet. They all appear in the list. And Chromecast on YouTube on my PC the amp appears on the list

Yes, chromecast is enabled. If i go to my computer and open youtube, the wiim amp comes up in the list and i can select it and it works but not on any of my phones or tablet
I just tried that. It still doest come up on the list on YouTube but I can cast my phone to the amp and do it that way.
Just curious as to why it won't show up with the amp having built in Chromecast
I have the Amp Ultra and an iPhone. In the YouTube Music App I can use Chromecast to my Amp Ultra. In the normal YouTube app the Amp Ultra is not available for Chromecast. Maybe because it's trying to Chromecast audio and video, therefore only my TV is listed for Chromecast.
Very interesting, I don't subscribe to YouTube music but just opened the app and the amp came up in the list. I just assumed Chromecast enabled meant anything that is available not depending on the source
As already said, it is not possible to connect to the WiiM from the cast button in the Youtube app: open the WiiM device in the Google home app and tap 'cast audio'. The audio will then be output from that WiiM device when you play a video in the Youtube app.
However, if you want to play the YouTube app on the WiiM, it may be better to use Bluetooth.
