I have a WiiM Ultra and I am very pleased with it. I have lately thought about going wireless for my speakers that are B&O Beolab Pentas (~35 year old and going strong). I have considered using the B&O option (Beo Transmitter and Beo receiver with a caveat). However, If I used two WiiM Minis and used only the left channel on one and only the right channel on the other for the left and right speaker respectively, and then configured them in WiiM Home App, would this allow me to go wireless on the speakers ? Would they be synchronised ? Would I be better with a Wiim Pro? What communication protocol do they use ? Is is BT to BT or wireless ? Any help appreciated ?

Thanks,

Welcome.

I have tried a mini and an ultra in a wiim group with one doing just Left and the other doing just Right.
Synchronisation was perfect, and manually adjusting the sync by about 5ms (iirc) started to make the sync go off.
The wiims themselves will be over network / wireless, not BT.
So, I don't forsee any sync issues with two minis themselves in a group, for sync.

As for how each wiim will connect to each of your speakers, I'll leave that to someone else!

I don't see why you would need (or in any way benefit from) two WiiM Mini in this setup.

Don't you just connect your single.stere WiiM Ultra to the Beolab Transmitter and that's it? The transmitter handles the wireless transmission to the Beolab Receiver based on the WiSA protocol (not supported by WiiM). You can either use the transmitter's analogue RCA input or its digital optical input (limiting the Ultra optical out to 96 kHz 24 bit).

Done.
